This serviced apartment project is part of the Northbank Township by IBRACO Bhd. It is one of the many components of the 123 acres masterplan which includes commercial, educational, recreational, medical as well as residential developments. Renna Residence sits on a 2.74 acres plot of land with a river frontage – there are 295 residential units over three 12-storey blocks on a 3-storey car parking podium.
The unit sizes are designed with north-south orientation and range from 46.9 m2 to 105.5 m2. Like many developments of this nature which prioritise planning efficiency – we managed to carve out relief spaces within the building envelope to create sky gardens on every floor. We planned for a tall arrival lobby, so that views of the river front are visible at the drop-off. In addition, we placed the residents’ facilities such as lounges, theatre, gym, and playroom at the ground level. These are capped off with a riverside pool and pool deck to create a hotel-resort type of environment for this service apartment complex. The design of this project started in 2020 just before the lock-down; construction started in 2022 and is expected to be completed in late 2024.
The storey heights are relatively low at 3.5 m and 2.8 m; this is adequate as the ground floor is the soffit of slab while the first-floor ceiling is vaulted following the roof profile. This gives opportunities for the internal spaces to be visually linked, adding expanse and interest to this compact family home.
